ABOUT ME

At the age of 20, Serena Rutledge has performed at many festivals, talent showcases, charity fundraisers, and cafes. She wrote her first song at the age of 11 and never looked back, now having worked with LA-based Pop artists such as Alexander Stewart and Sophie Rose. A main priority for Serena is finding a way to write songs about relatable experiences while using lyrical freedom to find a new way to describe them. Some songwriters that inspire her are Julia Michaels, Emily Warren, JP Saxe, FINNEAS, Billie Eilish, and SHY Martin.

Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan is home to a singer/songwriter program that fostered Serena’s passion for creativity throughout high school. From Michigan, Serena made her way to New York City where she studied at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. As of 2020, she is happy to be a new addition to the Los Angeles College of Music’s Songwriting program, where she is also improving her production and instrumental skills on guitar and piano. She is excited to jumpstart her career as a songwriter in LA, building on existing relationships as well as developing new ones. Serena is also excited to release more original music this year. She released her single “Vintage Nikes” on May 7th, followed by two other singles “Simp” and “The Chosen One”, all produced by Canadian multi-instrumentalist Camp.30. From the small town in Ontario, Canada where she was born, to every place that follows, Serena strives to write fresh, relatable music and collaborate with those who do the same
